What is MegaBox?

MegaBox is an all-in-one music workstation designed for composing and sharing chiptune and instrumental music directly in your browser. Features include:

How do I add custom samples?

Since MegaBox doesn't require a dedicated backend server of its own, you can load samples directly from CORS-friendly URLs.

A popular option to host your samples is File Garden.

Next, copy the direct URL of the sound file (e.g. ending in .wav or .mp3).

To import it into MegaBox, open the Edit tab, scroll to the bottom, and click on "Add Custom Samples..."

Paste your URL and click "Okay". Your sample will then be loaded and available in the preset list.

Does MegaBox have an offline version?

Yes! You can download and run standalone offline builds without needing an internet connection.

Does MegaBox claim ownership over songs created with it?

MegaBox does not claim ownership over songs created with it, so original songs belong entirely to their authors.

Neither MegaBox nor its creators assume responsibility for any copyrighted material played on MegaBox. No songs are ever received, recorded, or distributed by MegaBox's servers. All song data is contained in the URL after the hash (#) mark, and MegaBox running inside your browser converts that data into sound waves.
